DGen Impact Novice Programme 2025 Concludes, Empowering Local Youth for Future Success

In today’s fast-paced world, the transition from school to work can be a daunting challenge for many young people. At DGen, we are committed to supporting local youth as they navigate this critical phase of their lives.

Building on the success of our past cohorts, our journey for 2025 commenced with an engaging orientation training session in January.  This kickoff event was designed to inspire and equip participants with the skills they need for their future workspace. The orientation also aimed to foster intercultural competence, promoting an inclusive culture within organizations and improving collaboration among diverse teams.

Midway through the program, we hosted our DGen students for a value-based training session as part of the Impact Novice Programme. This engaging session allowed students to participate in collaborative activities designed to boost their confidence and professional skills.

One student reflected on their experience:

“This program not only provided me with an internship and introduced me to essential workplace norms, but it also included workshops that allowed me to explore my identity and discover my inner self.”

Another participant shared a memorable lesson:

“One memorable lesson from Till was the importance of maintaining curiosity. This mindset helps us avoid feelings of embarrassment and fosters respect for individuals from diverse cultures, instilling a sense of bravery in us.”

From developing Work-Readiness Skills to enhancing Personal Branding

As the program neared completion, we conducted a Personal Branding workshop led by trainer Timothy Hassan. This session covered essential concepts of personal branding, guiding students on how to present themselves professionally while articulating their learning experiences at DGen effectively.

Participants learned practical strategies for leveraging LinkedIn as a powerful networking tool to showcase their unique personal brands. The workshop served as an excellent opportunity for students to reflect on their three-month learning journey at DGen, where they engaged in impactful social initiatives with our community partners. It was inspiring to witness how these experiences have shaped their perspectives and prepared them for future challenges.
