The DGen Impact Career Programme is delighted to present our 9th cohort this summer! With the support of our funders and community partners, we have welcomed around 30 students from diverse backgrounds to participate in this community experience programme.
On 14th June, we conducted the orientation training for our new cohort of students, featuring sessions on goal setting and intercultural communication, as well as an introduction to the Inner Development Goals (IDGs). The IDGs aim to foster personal growth and development, focusing on the inner qualities and skills necessary for effective leadership and social impact. By incorporating the IDGs into DGen’s training framework, we hope that our students will not only enhance their professional journeys but also become well-rounded individuals capable of making a positive difference in their communities.

We had the privilege of inviting ICE Hong Kong and trainers from the Jockey Club Shining Together with Cross-Cultural Youth Project to conduct the training workshops for our students. These workshops provided valuable insights and practical skills, further enriching the learning experience.

Looking ahead, the students will embark on their community placements within our partner projects, including CantoLearn, Caritas Labour-Friendly Communities Project, OneSky, Shakespeare4All and other impact organisations. These placements will provide them with hands-on experience in addressing social issues while applying the skills they’ve learned. By working alongside dedicated organisations, students will gain valuable insights and contribute meaningfully to their communities, further enhancing their professional development and personal growth.

Additionally, our DGen students were invited to join the youth summit that afternoon for the DragoNation Day 2025, themed “AI for a Better Future.” They had the opportunity to mingle with policymakers and other social leaders, further expanding their networks and engaging in discussions about the role of technology in creating positive change.

We are excited to see the positive impact our new cohort will create and look forward to supporting them on their journey towards becoming leaders for change in their communities!
